Clyde Butcher's Photography Exhibit

Yesterday, Diane, Joan and I made a trek over to the St. Paul Central Library and the James J. Hill Reference Library to view the Clyde Butcher photography exhibit. His large black and white landscape photos were displayed prominently in both of these beautiful libraries. I felt almost reverent when walking through the libraries and found myself whispering to Diane and Joan. It's not at all like Brookdale. They also had a great video to watch in the James J. Hill library with Clyde and his wife explaining where he took his beautiful photos. That is something I'd like to do.....travel around the country and take pictures. Somehow, I feel my photos just wouldn't look the same! ;-) We also enjoyed a lovely lunch at W. A. Frost's....my favorite. Here is a tiny movie for you.

My stay at Madeira Beach

I'm Back

Here is a picture of Kathy & I on Mediera Beach the day I arrived. We had such a fun time even if the weather wasn't the greatest. They showed me around the area and I saw downtown St. Petersburg, and Tampa, Bradenton. One day we drove over to Sarasota and had a fun time shopping (beautiful area) and then drove out to Anna Maria Island. Stopped at the Outlet mall on the way home too. I really enjoyed going over the Sunshine Bridge which is the 3rd tallest bridge in the world. It felt like we were going up in a roller coaster (It's that steep) and I wanted to yell Weeeee on the way down the other side. We ate at some neat restaurants and found some treasures at the antique store. The only bad thing was only making it to the beach one day...the weather was too cold or rainy the other days....strange weather for Florida. I'll try and put up a little video soon on my trip.

Hi from Madeira Beach, FL

Please bare with me as I'm using Kathy's computer and not quite sure of it. Here is a picture we took in front of the museum in downtown St. Petersburg (or else this is me posing). Yes, yes I've been eating up a storm (I know that's a sore subject with you back home...sorry) and look very similar to this "Smoking Woman". We have been having a great time but the weather has been quite cool and windy so have only been to the beach one day. Still enjoying being away from the snow and cold back home though....I'm not complaining. Can't believe I go home in 4 days!

Zip-a-dee-do-dah - Florida here I come

Really enjoyed lunch yesterday with Joan and Diane. We have to do that more often. Looking forward to the Oscar party too!

Am packing today for my trip to Florida to see Kathy & Jim tomorrow. I think I'm "getting out of Dodge" just in time before the next snowstorm hits. Hope to post to the blog from warm and sunny Florida. Yippee!

Garrison Keillor

Last night, Diane, Jim and I went to see Garrison Keillor's show which was broadcast live in HD at Arbor Lakes Theater in Maple Grove. He was filming from the Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul. It was a terrific show and I really enjoyed it. Hope he continues to do more of these. Elvis Costello was one of the featured entertainers. It will be broadcast on Saturday on the radio.

Happier Times

Yes, this picture was taken on a good day....we were both feeling well and enjoying the beauty of the old Hacienda Hotel (which is no longer there sad to say). This is the hotel we stayed at when we first started going down to Cabo. They would greet you in the lobby when checking in with a margarita....very hospitable! It's still beautiful down there but it doesn't have the charm of this old Mexican hotel. I was just going through some old pictures and came across this one which made me smile. I had lots of curls in those days and we both had on our fanny packs. ;-) This would have been in the early '80's when it was still okay to wear them. Diane said I couldn't wear them anymore when we were in Las Vegas and I was the only person wearing one while walking through the MGM Grand.

It Seems Like Forever

Yes, it seems like I've had this sinus/cold forever. I'm very sick of being sick! I think it's getting better and then the next day, it's worse. I haven't felt much like blogging...haven't felt like doing much of anything. Enough of my whining.

On a brighter note.....it's snowing again.
