International Falls Head Gear

Oh, what a lovely display of head gear on these two Issy gals. I think Joan should have switched with Diane though so Diane would be all in red.

A Day of Irish Revelry

Diane, Joan, Anne & I decided to go and see the St. Patrick's Day Parade and had a fun time. There were so many people there and the parade was quite long. I was able to get a few pictures of the Irish folk all dressed up in their finest green garb....even their dogs were dressed up! We ate lunch at a great little Thai restaurant that Joan told us about and then went through the downtown St. Paul Library that Anne hadn't seen...it is so impressive. We stopped in City Hall where we had to go through security to see the onyx statue, Vision of Peace which is 36 feet tall and weighs 60 tons and designed by Swedish sculptor Carl Milles. That evening Diane and I went to play poker and had a lot of laughs so all in all it was a very nice St. Patrick's Day!

North to International Falls to Visit Vera and Celebrate Joan's Birthday

Last weekend we trekked north...way up north to International Falls to visit Vera and celebrate Joan's birthday. We had such a good time even if the weather was cold, windy and snowy. Here is a tiny video of our weekend.

Poker Night at Susan's

After having a fun day watching the Irish strut their stuff in the parade in St. Paul, Diane & I went to poker night at Susan's. Heather joined us also and won one of the big pots of gold....er...pennies without shiny surfaces at the end. Diane won the other. Here is a picture of the motley crew.

Our Trip Wayyyyyy Up Nort' to International Falls

Diane, Joan and I drove up to International Falls to visit Vera this past weekend. We had so much fun seeing her again and Vera was such a great hostess...she fed us well! We celebrated Joan's birthday which isn't for a few days and had some fun being silly. Here is one of the videos I took with more to follow in the next few days....as you can see I'm not very good at videotaping....much better at editing and producing. I tried multi-tasking by shooting video and still photos at the same time. ;-)

Bowling for St. Thomas

I went with Diane, Jim & Heather today to a fundraiser for the St. Thomas Golf Team. We went bowling! I hadn't bowled since the mid-1980's so you can imagine how rusty I was. I can tell I used some muscles in my back that I haven't used in awhile. Diane beat me my first game....she had 61 and I had 54. I did better the second game - 106.
It was a fun time and Heather and I even won St. Thomas shirts. Here are a few pictures from today.
