Update - 40th Anniversary Celebration

Here we are eating again at Benihana's. We were celebrating Prissy and Jim's 40th wedding anniversary.....just waiting for the fun to begin. The food was very good....I brought home leftovers. ;-)

I remember the wedding day very well.....until midway through the reception which was held on our parents' farm. The problem all started with the free flowing beer and the long train on my bridesmaid's dress....you can ask Prissy about that sometime as she never lets me forget it.

Many more Happy, Healthy Anniversaries, Prissy & Jim!

Don't know what that spot is on Jim's nose.

UPDATE: Well, since Joan really wanted to hear the wedding story, I will tell you the tale of the tail.

Yes, the beer keg was in the front yard and beer was flowing freely and at that age, it didn't take much to make me a little giddy (come to think of it, it still doesn't take much to make me silly). I had on a beautiful pink bridesmaid's dress and a floppy pink hat (maybe I can find a picture to attach so you get the full picture....sorry I couldn't find a picture of our backsides). After having a couple of beers I found that nature was calling and so proceeded to go to the little girl's room. Well, I guess I forgot that I had a trane on my bridesmaid's dress and well.....you can probably imagine the rest of the story. Everyone (especially Prissy) thought it was quite funny. So that is the tale of the tail.

A Night at the Circus!

Yes, Bill and I went to the circus in town last night. It was the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus out of Hugo, OK. We bought tickets from our neighbors who were selling them. It was quite funny to see two old folks walking in the tent with no children...not even grandchildren along with us. Oh well, I guess we are young at heart. I enjoyed the Big Cats the most....they laid down on their backs and wanted their stomachs rubbed. Here are some pictures. I'll add more another time.

My Favorite Tree

Here is a before the rain picture and after the rain picture of my favorite tree. It is just off our deck and I think it has soo much character. Yes, if Barbara Walters were to ask me what tree I would be, it would have to be a Red Pine. Standing tall (wishful thinking as you all know I'm vertically challenged) and very sturdy and when it has a drink, turns slightly red.

Nunsensations

Bill and I joined our neighbors the other night and went to see Nunsensations at a little theater up nort'. The setting was The Pump Room of the Mystique Motor Lodge in Las Vegas. The picture above is Sister Carmen Miranda entertaining us before the actual musical started. Also, there is a picture of the restroom (an outhouse) which I thought was funny. The last picture is the stage (Tinseltown North). We did enjoy ourselves but I was told Nunsense was much better.

Treasures

I found these little treasures at an antique store up nort'. The grey elephants were made in Germany but I'm not sure about the other ones. I just think they are adorable. The only sad thing about finding these little guys is the lady whose antique store these were in passed away in March. She was so sweet and had her store right next to her cabin so she could just carry her cup of coffee to her store every morning. She was 86 and as sharp as a tack. I'll miss her because we always visited for quite awhile when I was there. Her son and daughter-in-law are going to run the store now....they are moving back from Kansas where she always went in the winter to find more treasures to bring home and sell. I could feel her spirit in the store yet though and am glad she isn't suffering any more.

The 3M Senior's Tournament, as Written by a Senior

Well, as you can see....Arnie's Army was flanking the golf cart so I couldn't get a good shot of him (he's in the yellow shirt). It was fun today and I also saw Fred Funk up close....Diane got his autograph. We were able to cool off in the Charles Schwab tent where they had food and refreshments and you know me around food (see previous post). It was a good time.

The 3 Cousins

We 3 Cousins of Minnesota are......having fun at the birthday party. This picture was taken before I started eating like crazy. It was a baseball theme and we had hot dogs and all the things you can eat at a ball game. My kind of party! ;-)

Birthday Boy

What a cutie! We had a fun time today at the party where I managed to consume a couple glasses of beer, a hot dog, taco salad, German potato salad, beans, birthday cake.....oh and, chips and cheese and popcorn. I abstained from the cotton candy.....wasn't I a good girl? Oops, I forgot about the salted peanuts. Now, I'm done.

There were so many cute little babies and kids around and they had a bouncing house to wear off their energy and also a pinata to break. We left before the balloon toss, darn. I really enjoyed seeing my cousin Doug, his wife and son from down home. What a fun time we had!

Sunset in MG

I wish I would have been outside a little earlier to get a really beautiful sunset but as you can see it's a little too dark. This picture doesn't do it justice. That's what I get for watching, What Not To Wear, and not paying attention to what's going on outside! Does anyone want to nominate me for that show? ;-) Hey, it's a free trip to the Big Apple.

I have a plugged ear today. It started this morning and I've been walking around asking everyone to repeat themselves because everything is muffled. It makes me feel a little disoriented and yucky also. It's better tonight but still not back to normal. Weird feeling. I can appreciate what it would be like to be deaf and it's not a good thing. Thank God that I have my hearing.....except when Bill snores.

Daydreaming

Hearing about the low airfare that is out there right now reminded me of our wonderful trip out to Vermont. Here is a picture I took while out there. Maybe a trip out that way in the fall is just what I need. I could visit my niece and her children. There are restrictions as to what days you travel I guess. It's something to think about anyway....for now, I'll just look at the picture and daydream.

I'm still tried and lazy today but am accomplishing work anyway...kind of pushing myself though. On a brighter note, it's raining which is neat. It's been so dusty around here because we have a gravel road that runs right by our place and I'm sick of all the dust on our vehicles and tracking in the house. We even asked the county to come and spray something on the road to stop the dust and they said they would do it by June 1st and we are upset about it. We paid for it but nothing has been done....may have to get our money back if they don't do it by this week. Well, enough of my whining for now. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Coming Up For Air

Hi,

Sorry I've been away for awhile but I've had a lot of company lately and feel that today is the first day that I can "come up for air". I really enjoy the company but usually there is a break in between and this time it wasn't. I'm verrrrryyyyy tired today. Washing sheets & towels again. Maybe we can go for a ride on the pontoon this afternoon and just chill.

Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather we have been having. Here is a picture of our grandson driving the pontoon when they were here.

Here are the 3 cousins a year ago having fun in the pool.....the time goes by so fast. Hope you all have a Happy 4th of July!
