I was just outside putting the Christmas lights on our animated deer and it is a blustery day up nort'. I wish you could have been here to hear the sound of the wind blowing through the trees. I love that sound and it was raining leaves on me as I worked which I didn't mind one bit. I remember years ago when Mom and us kids would rake leaves on our farm and then Wayne and I would go and jump in them and make a big mess. We all had our job raking leaves though and then a bonfire afterward. I loved the sound of the crunch of the leaves when you walked through the woods...Wayne couldn't sneak up on me very easily.
We don't rake leaves up here...Bill blows them into the woods and then more come down so he gets to do it again the next day. There is a never-ending shower of leaves it seems.
I made a big batch of chili again today and an apple pie yesterday so I expect my tummy to look like the Great Pumpkin by this evening.

Ah Jane, such happy memories on a fall day. It is fun to read your stories of your childhood. It sounds so ideal, 4 kids on a farm, great parents...how wonderful for you all. I was walking through and crunching some leaves today too and thinking how wonderful that sound is--even today.
So is it true that tonight is the night Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin on tv? I wonder if the Great One will come this time? Gotta love that Linus. A hopeful one he is. I read that show was made in 1966. That's a long wait.
